Cambodian Women:
The Traditional Society and Forced Marriages Under Khmer Rouge
Asia Culture Center (ACC) is a national culture & art organization launched in 2015 in the spirit of the May 18th Democratic Uprising of Gwanju. This special exhibition was the result Tuol Slang Genocide Museum, Cambodia, and it was under the theme of the Democracy, Human Rights, and Peace. This exhibition was about the victims of forced marriage during the Democratic Kampuchea regime in Cambodia. For this, a face illustration of an imaginary victim was developed, and the title of the exhibition was composed with graphics that symbolize the censorship and force of the Khmer Rouge. The spacious exhibition hall was divided into 3 sections to provide different atmospheres and differentiated experiences. In the participative exhibition, the act of viewing the exhibition was regarded as a witness to history, and the act of leaving a portrait of each individual was given the meaning of becoming a witness of history.
